SPECIAL NOTE: If signing up on Monday, please sign up for just ONE event this week (either Sundance in the Grove or Sundance in the Square). Beginning Tuesday, feel free to sign up for both. This will give as many folks as possible the opportunity to dance this week.
We're line dancing in Union Square in San Francisco! We're doing this weekly on Thursday evenings, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, through mid-February (weather permitting, of course).
We take over a section of the southeastern plaza, closest to Macy's. We're dancing on a polished stone surface that is surprisingly comfortable for dancing. San Francisco has now limited outdoor group activities to 12 people through January, but we can accommodate more once that restriction is lifted.
There is a garage under Union Square, entrance off of Geary across from Macy's. It's $3 an hour after 6 pm, and $4 before 6 pm. Lots of free street parking, including yellow zones, opens up in the area at 6 pm. (Just make sure you read all the signs on the meter *and* on the street. There are many tow-away lanes active from 4 to 6 pm.)
Attendance is limited, and we have strict infection control policies in place, including required face masks and social distancing. If we are full this week, place yourself on the waiting list, and we will give you priority for next week if you don't get in this week.
There is no fee to register. However, we encourage tax-deductible donations to the Sundance Covid-19 Relief Fund.
